This is an uncommon Harrods branded Invicta MP1 typewriter made in Italy in 1949. In glossy but subtle original grey paint, this portable typewriter, which is designed to be used on its baseboard, is a stylish example of art deco design. Its covered ribbon spools and exposed type basket are particularly elegant, as is of course the raised "Harrods" decal. Having been disassembled, cleaned, adjusted and fitted with a new ribbon and new baseboard feet, this typewriter works nicely and is ready for its next typist.
