Shipping
All typewriters are carefully packaged for shipment in robust, double-walled cardboard boxes with ample packing material. Where appropriate, The Write Typer reuses packing material, to reduce waste and impact on the environment. The Write Typer also prioritises the use of recyclable packing material, including packing paper and shredded cardboard.
Typewriters are packed with their carriage locks disengaged (to protect them from breakage) and their carriage release levers engaged (to protect the jamming of or damage to the escapement). To keep typewriter carriages centred during transit, the back of each packed typewriter is wrapped tightly with plastic wrap. Detailed unpacking instructions are included with each typewriter.
All typewriters are sent fully insured via a signed-for delivery service.

Shipping Within the UK
All typewriters have shipping to mainland UK included in their price. Orders are packed within 48 hours of being ordered, and customers can expect to receive orders between 1-3 working days once it has shipped. Orders in the UK are shipped with trackable DPD or ParcelForce services.
Shipping to the US & Canada
Typewriter shipments to the US & Canada are £75 and are shipped via UPS tracked, insured, & signed for. Accessory orders are £12.50 and are shipped via Royal Mail International Tracked.
Please note, shipments to the US may incur duties, payable by the customer to US customs. If you live in the US and would like assistance calculating possible duties before purchase, please get in touch.
I pack all orders to the US within 48 hours of being ordered and aim for their delivery between 4-6 days after shipment.
The Write Typer is not responsible for delays caused by shipping companies, couriers, or customs officials but will always work to contact shipping companies to resolve a delay should one occur.
Shipping to Europe
Typewriter shipments to Europe are £25 and are shipped via a tracked service. Accessory orders are £10.
Please note, shipments to Europe may incur VAT and customs duties, payable by the customer. I am advised that orders equal to or less than €150 EUR have VAT applied to them, while orders greater than €150 EUR have import VAT and duties applied. These charges are collected by the courier before delivery and may differ depending on the country in which the customer resides.

Shipping to Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia
Typewriter shipments to Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia) are £135 and are shipped via a tracked service. Accessory orders are £10.
Orders are packed within 48 hours of being ordered, and delivery is aimed for between 4-7 days after shipment. The Write Typer is not responsible for any duties payable on purchased typewriters and/or accessories.
Tracking, Delivery and Risk
All shipments are sent using tracked delivery services.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will be provided tracking information so that you can monitor delivery progress.
Where applicable, shipments are insured to help protect against loss or damage during transit.
Customers should inspect deliveries as soon as reasonably possible after receipt and contact the shop if there are any concerns regarding damage or incorrect items.
Responsibility for the product passes in accordance with applicable consumer protection law.
Damaged Deliveries
If your typewriter arrives damaged, please contact the shop as soon as possible.
Please provide:

This information helps me assess the issue and work with you towards an appropriate resolution.
Where appropriate, I will assist with the claims process with the delivery provider.
Please retain all packaging materials until the matter has been resolved, as they may be required for inspection or courier claims.
